Jessica's Plight is an adult game, aimed for an adult audience and includes explicit text and graphics. It was built using Twine (Harlowe enginge) and is purely HTML with embedded CSS and JPG files.

The game takes your choices into account to shape the experience, be careful what you do! In total, there are 9 endings.

It is a text-based interactive novel with a minimalistic art-style that aims to enhance the text-experience only. The events and scenes in this interactive novel can be disturbing for some viewers. This game features bdsm, bondage, sexism, sexual scenes, humiliation and foul language.

"hints_v2_2_2a.pdf" contains hints and solutions for chapter 2 scenarios if you're stuck, and some info how to avoid triggering chapter 2 early in chapter 1 if you wish to see everything in chapter 1. It also contains a description of all endings.

Version 2.2.2 of the game now contains a save/load game mechanism, you can also restart the game at any point. The game also includes a difficulty setting for chapter 2, available in the config menu.

Great work! I've not gotten all endings but it was fun to play ending 1 and 9 so far. :)

Added some additional info about chapter 1 in "hints_v2.pdf, specifically how to avoid triggering chapter 2 early if you wish to see the full chapter 1.

Is there a way to reset the game after getting an ending?

Hi!

I'm not sure how itch.io handles user sessions and cookies. I've been testing with firefox and there, if I open the game in a new tab or a new browser session (private or not) it will start the game from the start. Let me know if this fixes it for you!

If I play in incognito mode this works for me. Yet another reason to move on from chrome...

One of the first scenes in chapter 2 results in an endless loop. Either that or you're supposed to spend several minutes clicking on every options multiple times to trigger the next stage

Hi. Yes, that is the point. It is not an endless loop, you're supposed to try various approaches until something works. You are, after all, bound and helpless.

I mean I get it but considering that it's first mentioned that you might not have a lot of time and then you're stuck with trying every option several times for the exact same result over and over again and even speed clicking for like a minute straight without anything happening it kinda stops raising tension and instead just becomes a chore. And since there are no indications that what you're doing is actually getting you closer to anything it's frankly speaking even less engaging than a cookie clicker. I get the intention behind it, in such a situation you wouldn't have much to do and no indication what's happening but I don't think this is the best way to implement it in a game. Because after all the player isn't blindfolded, gagged and bound in an uncertain situation, they're probably sitting in front of their PC in a safe environment and instead of struggling to escape they're clicking on a couple of links in a browser tab, without even really a lot of flavor text or anything to set the mood. Honestly, if somebody manages to actually get the "helpless and abandoned" mood going by doing this I'm really impressed with their ability to immerse themselves

Yes, I completely agree with you and you're not the only one who has commented about this. I made an adjustment for chapter 2 in version 2.0.2 version of the game - you and others will find it much easier to escape that scenario, while still maintaining the feel of the scene!
Thanks for your feedback, it is appreciated!
