I've drawn backgrounds tons, right? I've been doing art for years, but I think more often than not I've phoned it in when it comes to backgrounds. It feels weird to have such a gap in my practice, but it's time to fill it.

I started with a sketch and built it up from there. I spent about 30 seconds drawing bricks before I got tired of it and decided to photo bash. I'm pretty self-conscious about photo bashing and worry about it clashing with a line-art style, but with a little paint-over and added noise, I think it works well enough.

I'm not sure how much I'll use photo bashing in the future. I don't think I'm that good at it, but it was pretty quick to put together. It's about time I get better at it because I'm already thinking ahead to complex scenes of city rooftops and town markets.
