Animus Non Grata - Special Edition announcement!
Hey everyone!
As some of you know, we've been getting back to adult visual novel development with Synthetic Rush, the amazing Daz3D artist behind Animus Non Grata! Our new project Neuro/Splice is still in early development, but we have both started checking out RenPy as an engine. It looks quite promising.
This got me thinking... It can't be too hard to convert the current Animus Non Grata twine version to RenPy... Right!? So that's where we are now: The demo for Animus Non Grata - Special Edition is now available from the itch.io project page! The plan is to publish the whole thing as free DLC for anyone who owns the original game, both on Itch and Steam.
Special Edition demo version details:
- Work in progress version 0.1.0, rewritten in RenPy from scratch!
- Current special edition demo version contains Sequence 0
- Current special edition demo version DOES NOT include Spanish translations!
- Special edition demo available to download for free.
- Game saves INCOMPATIBLE with the Twine version
- Full special edition version will be available to everyone who bought the original game

I was pretty sure I bought the original game (and I did 12/16/2024, 151 days ago according to Itch.). I still have it on the hard drive even after finishing it. I thought the game development was completed, so when I received this notice I was surprised. I do think converting the game to RenPy is a VERY good idea. I personally think RenPy is by far the best AVN engine, and capable of doing amazing things (with some work of course). It is by far the most player friendly platform there is and it runs well in everything. What more could you ask, right? So I am assuming this is the demo and not the full version... yet?
Hi! You are correct - The Renpy version currently only has the first two chapters (Sequence 0 and 1). (SE v0.2.0 is available here in itch for people who bought the original, and SE v0.1.0 is a free demo with Sequence 0).
I will be slowly updating the next chapters into Renpy format as well. Beta-testing and bug-reporting is appreciated for the chapters I have already converted!
